Ted Allan Mahaffey

Ted Allan Mahaffey, 74 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at home. Born October 18, 1946 in West Jefferson, NC, he was the son of the late Coy Mahaffey and Lizzie Stanley Mahaffey Hodgson, and step-son of the late, Arville Hodgson.

Ted was employed by the former General Motors Corporation of Wilmington, DE. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Wright and husband, Tony, of Port Deposit, MD; two grandchildren, Anthony Wright and wife, Jenna, and Mark Wright; brothers, Estel Mahaffey and wife, Charlotte, of Parksburg, PA, and Ralph Hodgson of Akron, PA; sisters, Betty Blevins of West Grove, PA, Volyree Smith of Lewisville, PA, and Shirley Durborow and husband, Pal, of Lewisville, PA; estranged wife, Robin Mahaffey of Georgia; and his beloved dog, Lady.

Ted was preceded in death by brothers, Ed Couram, Vester Mahaffey, Larry Mahaffey, and Garland Mahaffey; sisters, Blanche Atwood and Mabel Brooks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Amedisys Hospice Foundation in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 14, 2021, 1 PM, at the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Mike Gentry of Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
