On February 19, 2023, Thomas "Tom" Harold Deming, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully at home following a long illness. He was 64 years old.
Born in 1958, Tom was an accomplished aerospace and mechanical engineer. Through his work, he was a part of the Artemis rocket program helping design a part of the launch abort system. After graduating from Southern Illinois University, he and his fiancee, Rhonda Miller, married in 1981. They soon moved to Mesa, AZ, where he earned his Master’s in mechanical engineering from Arizona State University and their two sons were born. Tom enjoyed woodworking, cycling on his recumbent bike, and 3-D printing with his computer.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Rhonda; sons, Daniel (Elizabeth) and Stephen; three grandchildren; parents, Davis Deming and Frances Bernstein; brother, Jim Deming (Connie); and sister, Elen Deming; along with several cousins and nephews.
All are welcome to attend the viewing Sunday, February 26, 2023, 4 PM until 6 PM, at the Grace Bible Chapel, 1949 Joseph Biggs Memorial Hwy, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A public Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, 11 AM, at the Grace Bible Chapel, with a luncheon to follow.
