Joseph William Sharer, Sr., 67 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 in the University of Maryland Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace, MD. Born January 13, 1951 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late William A. and Marie McLaughlin Sharer.

Joseph was employed as a truck driver by Vulcan Materials of Havre de Grace, MD. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Bernice Elizabeth Bowman Sharer of Perryville, MD; son, Joseph W. Sharer, Jr., of Perryville, MD; daughter, Crystal D. Taylor of North East, MD; grandchildren, Tucker and Camden; brothers, Jackie Havlin of Quincy, MA, and James Havlin of Boston, MA; sister, Janet Horner of Perryville, MD; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sisters, Joan Moschella and Jean Webb.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 29, 2018, 2 PM until 5 PM, at the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the American Cancer Society in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
